Do you travel?

Yes, of course! I LOVE road trips. Unfortunately, there is only so much time in a day. It would definitely be a full day if I drove 6-8 hours round trip plus shooting all day. So, for locations more than 2-3 hours away, a one-night hotel is required - just a place to rest my head  (and all the camera gear).

I also charge a vehicle expense based on the standard mileage rate (54 cents) per mile for the amount of miles to and from the location of your wedding/session to cover gas, mileage, tolls, etc.. The fee is applicable to any wedding located 40 miles (and any portrait session located 20 miles) beyond zip code 14428. These fees must be paid in advance of your session, wedding, or event.

To break it down a little further, here's an example:

The wedding and reception will all take place at one location in Corning, NY (let's just say the Corning Museum of Glass). One way (from the start point in 14428) the trip is around 104 miles. Round trip, the journey would be 208 miles. We take the round trip amount, which is 208 miles, and subtract the given 40 mile radius; this would leave us with 168 miles. 168 miles times the 0.54/per mile travel fee would amount to around $91 for travel fees.

208 miles - 40 mile radius = 168 miles

168 miles x 0.54/per mile travel fee = $90.72

If there is a fair distance between your getting-ready location(s), wedding/reception venues, and any other photo locations, we will calculate those miles in with the initial round trip total.

The travel fee covers travel time, gas, tolls, and other such travel costs.

When will we receive our photos?

Patience has never been mine, either. - I hate waiting! But know that I take the editing process very seriously and meticulously edit each, individual image. Generally, my turnaround is about 4-6 weeks, but depending on what else I have going on (I work a full-time job in addition to doing photography), it might take a little longer. I do my absolute best to get your photos back to you in a timely manner, but as we know, life tends to happen, and time gets the better of us. Rest assured, I will keep in touch with you about the progress - and even send you some sneak-peeks!

How will we be able to view our photos?

I generally tend to save the edited, high-resolution photos onto a USB thumb drive and either end up snail-mailing or handing it to you personally (if you are local). I know I was very impatient to view our wedding photos - and waiting for them in the mail was excruciating! Most times, I will download the entirety of your wedding onto an online gallery for a short time (and even post the highlights in a Facebook album) for you to immediately view and share with friends and family while you wait for your bundle of (wedding photo) joy to arrive.

And that leads us to another question - do I create albums? Currently, I do not offer wedding albums. However, with that thumb drive, I will send you a copyright release that gives you the rights to print and post the photos at your leisure.

What should we do if we are interested in any of your services?

Well, so far, you're on the right track! Somehow, you've found your way to my site and are doing the proper research - good on ya! Feel free to fill out the contact form or email me directly (megan.brask@gmail.com). You can tell me what you're interested in or ask any questions you might have. If you are very interested - especially regarding wedding and/or engagement photography - I'd love to sit down and chat with you and your fiance, treat you both to some coffee (or whatever coffee house beverage you prefer). I find this time to be indispensable; there is something about face-to-face meetings that tends to get lost in all the words on a screen. You get to see that, yes, indeed, I am a real person (with a dry sense of humor). I love getting to know you - the details behind how you met and what you are looking forward to most on your big day.

So, we've made a decision. What are the next steps?

So, we've either had an in-person consultation or we've chatted enough via email or text that you're interested to book any one of my services. Great!! It is truly an honor to be chosen to capture one of the biggest days of your life. I can't wait to go on this journey with you. If you are inquiring about a family/lifestyle shoot, no consultation is necessary (unless you'd rather meet beforehand, of course). The amount agreed upon is due the day of the shoot.

For weddings, in order for me to hold the day, a non-refundable, 10% deposit (of whichever package you select) is required to book your wedding. Unfortunately, I cannot hold a day until I have that deposit and a signed contract. When you book, I block out that entire day, even if you only book me for a few hours. I am all yours! That 10% goes towards your final total, which is due two weeks before the wedding date (unless you decide to pay earlier - that is completely up to you).

After that time, once you've officially booked (yay!), we''ll keep in touch through the wedding (talking about last-minute details, timelines, photo-lists, etc.), and I'll keep you posted on the editing process. Basically, now you can sit back and enjoy your day while I capture all of the fun!
